Educator. Writer. Artist.

Shawna Coppola

Hi! I am an educator with two decades of experience teaching children as young as five, adults with three or more decades of teaching experience, and every age learner in between. The majority of my professional life has been spent teaching literacy to middle school-age children as well as serving as a literacy specialist/coach in a K-6 school. I currently spend most of my time writing, facilitating engaging professional learning opportunities for educators, and speaking at local, regional, and national educational conferences. I am an author of two books about teaching through Stenhouse Publishers and am a Fellow/literacy consultant with The Educator Collaborative, a K-12 think tank and professional development organization. I would love the chance to learn alongside you!

Shawna has such a relaxed way about her that it’s not intimidating to speak [during the workshop].  She is always so well prepared!!
[Shawna] made me think, made me laugh, made me feel a bit more confident in what I was doing...I am in such a better place now, and I credit [her] class with that...of all the classes I’ve taken, [hers] has had the most dramatic impact on a child.
Thank you so much for everything. I cannot begin to tell you how much I have gained from your course and how much I enjoyed myself.
